The ACTIVE Life Challenge is a FREE, 8-week, fun, incentive-based health and fitness program for schools/sites, students, staff and their families. In the ACTIVE Life Challenge Program, students form teams with their families, while school/site staff can form teams with one another or with their own families. Teams complete weekly health and fitness challenges which bring the team members together as they explore new physical activities and nutrition topics.
All participating students and staff receive the ACTIVE Life VIP Reward Card and Lanyard, which provides ongoing discounts on healthy products and services at local retailers AND provides team members with access to the VIP area of the ACTIVE Life Tour.
Not only is the ACTIVE Life Challenge program a great way for all students, school/site staff and their families to become healthier and more active, but the Challenge also enhances and expands the state mandated coordinated school health initiative, especially the family/community involvement and staff wellness components.
The ACTIVE Life Challenge was developed by PE teachers, for PE teachers! We designed the Challenge to be flexible, easy to use and to work with all existing programs and policies.
The Challenge session is February 2-March 27th.
The website has a variety of functions depending on your role in the Challenge. For students and parents it serves as an informational resource and a place to upload videos of you doing the challenges to share with other Challenge participants. Additionally, you can submit ideas for future challenges. For the Champion at the school or site, the website is used for submitting school scores, downloading all necessary papers in order to complete the challenge, downloading promotional materials, and as an information tool (scoreboard) to see how other schools in the same region are doing in the Challenge.
The school/site Champion will have access to a variety of downloads including the Challenge Logs that are handed out at Week 1 and Week 5, the promotional flyer to post in the school or in the gym right before the Challenge starts, and the "bulletin board materials" (Challenge of the Week, Be ACTIVE Tip, Eat Healthy Tip and Live with Respect Tip. You will also have access to other bulletin board materials that will help teams see their progress and get help.
